Ava Insights: giving feedback
ℹ️ Note: Ava Insights is currently available for early adopters only.
Use this guide to rate answers, report issues, suggest improvements and share broader feedback during the early adopter programme. Send feedback in English, even if you asked Ava a question in another language.
During the early adopter programme, Ava Insights focuses on project managers in professional services organisations. Give feedback on realistic questions about projects, resources and project financials that you ask in your day-to-day work.
What Unit4 can see
Unit4 can see your question and the query Ava prepares to answer it. Unit4 cannot see Ava's answer unless you rate it on the same day. A same-day rating shares the answer with the Unit4 team so they can investigate it.
Access control during the programme
Ava Insights applies your company access and object access. If you can access an object, Ava Insights can return all its data in the companies you can access.
Attribute-based Data Control, column restrictions and filters that limit you to your own records are not applied during the early adopter programme. This is expected behaviour. Do not report these restrictions as issues. More detailed access control is planned, but there is no confirmed date.
If Ava Insights returns data from an object that you cannot access, report it in your organisation's channel immediately. Do not attach screenshots of that data.
Rate an answer
Rate as many answers as you can, especially answers that are wrong. Rate an answer on the same day. You can still send a rating later, but it no longer includes your question or Ava's answer, so the team cannot investigate it.
When an answer is wrong
Select the thumbs-down button and add a comment. You do not need to repeat your question. Describe what you expected and why the answer is wrong. Start your comment with one or more categories from this table.
| Category | Use it when |
|---|---|
[Wrong value] |
Ava returns incorrect data or figures. |
[Misunderstood] |
Ava misunderstands a term or your question. |
[Incomplete] |
The answer is partly correct but leaves out data. |
[No answer] |
Ava cannot answer a question it should handle. |
[Slow] |
Ava takes too long to return a useful answer. |
[Other] |
Another issue applies. Briefly describe it. |
You can use more than one category in a comment.
When an answer is right
Select the thumbs-up button. A comment is optional. If the data is correct but the presentation is difficult to use, still select thumbs up. Start your comment with [Format] and say what would make the answer easier to use.
Report an issue
Each organisation has a private Microsoft Teams channel shared with the Unit4 Ava Insights team. The channel name follows this pattern: Ava Insights EAP - <organisation>.
Use the channel for broken, blocking or urgent issues. Before you post, check whether someone has already reported the issue. Create one post for each issue and keep follow-up messages in its thread.
Include these details in each issue post:
- Who experienced the issue.
- The time and time zone of the message that caused the problem.
- The exact text of your question. Copy it into the post; do not rely only on a screenshot.
- The three messages before the issue, including your questions and Ava's replies.
- Screenshots that show the issue and the relevant conversation context.
- What you expected Ava to do.
Use this template for an issue post:
Issue: <short summary>
User: <name or email>
Timestamp: <date, time and time zone>
Question: <exact text of the question>
Previous context: <the three messages before the issue, including your questions and Ava's replies>
What happened: <what Ava did>
Expected behaviour: <what you expected>
Screenshots: <attach screenshots of the conversation>
Screenshots may show your organisation's data. Share only what you are comfortable sharing. Never attach screenshots of data that you are not allowed to access.
Suggest an improvement
Post one improvement idea per message in your organisation's channel. Describe what you want to change and why it matters, including the task it would help with and how often you do that task.
What happens after you report
The Unit4 team monitors the channel daily and responds as soon as possible. When the team resolves an issue, it replies in the thread for your post.
Monthly check-ins
Use answer ratings and the Teams channel for day-to-day feedback. Use monthly check-in sessions to discuss broader feedback, such as the value of Ava Insights, how it fits your work and what the team should prioritise. You can also ask the Unit4 team to arrange a call during the programme.
